Club Closed for the Summer

Last night saw the final training session of the 09/10 year, and UoP Octopush is now closed for the summer. Training sessions will resume in late September (date TBC closer to the time).

On behalf of all the club committee, I would like to thank all members for what has been a fantastic year, and we’re proud of the job we did running the club. We gained many new faces and got plenty of new people interested in our weird little sport. As well as the numerous socials which were all brilliantly messy, we also had 2 really good away trips.

We had an extremely successful and enjoyable trip to Plymouth in February, from which we brought back a trophy for our B team as well as the invaluable experience gained by the new members at their first tournament.

Then in March, we had a fantastic day at the British Universities Championship in Oxford which resulted in us placing 4th among 15 other teams from all around the country.

Once again, thanks to everyone, and as we pass on responsibility to the newly elected committee for 2010/11, the very best of luck to you all in both your uni courses (remember them?) and becoming a formidable force in university octopush!

P.S. Not forgetting the end-of-year meal this coming Friday (14th) at Chiquito’s, where we will be presenting some awards and seeing away the year in the way only we can! See you there :)

Plymouth Tournament Footage

Here is footage of us playing at Plymouth’s Valentines tournament. If anyone would like a higher quality copy contact me (Gemma)

Plymouth was a lot of fun on the 1st day and hard work having all been out drinking on the second day - but still enjoyable!

The 1st team were up against some tough competition and came 3rd in their league. However the 2nd team won their league with massive goal scoring and help from a few friends from Southsea Jrs!

Burger king on the way home well deserved.
