Most of the more experienced players wear shorts or spedos that are short and tight to reduce water resistance. As a result spedos are faster that some shorts.

What type of glove should I get and where can I get one?

Gloves are handy if you like your hand to stay in one piece. There are so many types and most are custom made. So talk to some of the members and see what they are using we might be able to help you sort something out. Or take a look at the British Underwater Hockey Association Website they have some gloves there. But make sure you speak to someone at the club before you part with your cash.

What about buying a pusher?

Pushers are handy too & always come in pairs. There are quite a few types and some are custom made. They come in wood and plastic and are different for left and right handed players. So talk to some of the members first and see what they are using we might be able to help you sort something out.

What about buying a hat?

Hats to protect your ears and they are a Health & Safety requirement. You have to get two hats they come as a pair one white and one blue in various numbers. They prevent long hair from blocking your vision and protect your ears.

When buying a mask, what should I look for?

There are many different masks but you ideally need one with a low volume and good field of vision so you can see almost all around you. Some players use sphera mask or the Cressi Super Ochio. Masks will cost between £20 - £30 pounds maybe more.
