Introduction to UPOC & Octopush
What is Octopush?
Octopush is also know as Underwater Hockey. Which is played at the bottom of a swimming pool, sounds fun? It certainly is! Two teams of six play for 7 minutes a half and try and score as many goals as possible. You don't need to be an expert swimmer, but it will help. It is a sport that will get you fit and have fun while doing it.
About the Club
The University of Portsmouth Octopush Club has been around for several years, currently we play in the pool where the sport was invented back in 1954, in Eastney.
The Club regularly participates in matches and competitions against other clubs and university clubs across the country.
However, we don't just play octopush. We are a very social bunch, from a swift half after training to discuss tactics, to pub crawls and other things like running, cycling, ice skating, paint balling etc.
