What about buying a hat?
Hats to protect your ears and they are a Health & Safety requirement. You have to get two hats they come as a pair one white and one blue in various numbers. They prevent long hair from blocking your vision and protect your ears.
When buying a mask, what should I look for?
There are many different masks but you ideally need one with a low volume and good field of vision so you can see almost all around you. Some players use sphera mask or the Cressi Super Ochio. Masks will cost between £20 – £30 pounds maybe more.
When buying a snorkel, what should I look for?
There are three types with a valve, without a valve and some have two valves. The club has some of each so try them and see which you prefer. Prices are roughly around £7 – £18.
Why should I spend all this money on kit?
All the equipment should last you for many years, it drastically improves you game and its a good investment… plus with all the games we got coming up, you’re going to need it if you want a chance of making the A-team.
When buying fins, what should I look for?
Must be rubber, or rubber-edged. Plastic fins are not allowed as these will injure other players. Just have a look at what other members use, and ask if you’re not sure what to get. Prices will vary from £20-£60. Another good piece of kit to invest in is a pair of Fin-retainers (Like big rubber bands), for about £3 they prevent you losing a fin when you need it most!!
